Coffee Brewing Equipment
(Urn, Shuttle Brewer, Bottle Brewer and Airpot Brewer)

Recommended Products:
Preferred Urn Cleaner:

Dip-It XP
NOTE: Do not use soap, scouring powder or any other
abrasives to clean coffee brewing equipment.

Preferred Cleaners for Pot Sink:
Solitaire
Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner

Oasis 146

URN
Frequency:
After each brew

Procedure - Urn:

  1. Remove any grounds from urn and brew basket by flushing with hot water.

Frequency:
At end of day

Procedure - Urn:

  1. Remove the faucet assembly; wash and rinse.
  2. Use urn brush to scrub the drain tube in both directions.
  3. Remove the seat cup from the coffee faucets, wash and rinse.
  4. Remove the gauge glass, clean thoroughly with a brush and rinse.
  5. Reinstall faucet assembly, seat cup and gauge glass.
  6. Flush entire urn with hot water two or three times.
  7. Leave a small amount of fresh water in urn overnight to keep seat cups moist.
  8. Wash, rinse and sanitize the brew basket, inside liner and cover in pot sink. Use a mild detergent (Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner or Solitaire).

Frequency:
Twice a week

Procedure - Urn:

  1. Follow the steps above and
  2. Add Dip-It XP. Follow directions for mixing and let solution stand in urn about 20 - 30 minutes. Label all faucets clearly with a warning tag to prevent the mistaken use of the cleaning solution.
  3. Scrub the inside of the urn, collar, brew basket and cover with a long-handled brush.
  4. Flush entire system with hot water two to three times to remove all traces of the urn cleaner.
  5. Wash and rinse all components thoroughly.

Safety Tips:

  1. Use required personal protection equipment (PPE) per MSDS.

SHUTTLE BREWER

Frequency:

After each brew

Procedure - Shuttle Brewer:

  1. Remove any grounds from the brew basket by flushing with hot water.

Frequency:
Daily

Procedure - Shuttle Brewer:

  1. Wipe all surfaces with clean, damp cloth.
  2. Remove spray head, then wash and rinse spray head area to remove coffee oils.
  3. Wash spray head. Check to ensure that all holes are open. If holes are blocked, call service for replacement spray head.
  4. Wash the brew basket in hot water with mild detergent (Solitaire or Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner).
  5. Clean the inside of the shuttle liner with a scrub pad and mild detergent (Solitaire or Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner).
  6. Remove the gauge glass, wash thoroughly with a brush and rinse.
  7. Remove and wash the shuttle faucets. Rinse three times with hot water.
  8. Remove the seat cups from the faucets, wash and rinse.
  9. Reinstall faucet assembly, seat cups and gauge glass.
  10. Flush entire system with hot water two or three times.

Frequency:
Weekly

Procedure - Shuttle Brewer:

  1. Fill the shuttle with a solution of hot water and Dip-It XP (follow directions).
  2. Let soak for about 20 to 30 minutes. Label all faucets clearly with a warning tag to prevent the mistaken use of the cleaning solution.
  3. Remove the spray head and faucets and wash thoroughly.
  4. Clean the gauge glass with a brush.
  5. Clean around the spray head with a damp cloth. Rinse well.
  6. Remove the wire insert from the brew basket, wash with a mild detergent (Solitaire or Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner) and rinse.
  7. Thoroughly wash the inside of the brew basket with a mild detergent (Solitaire or Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner) and rinse.
  8. Rinse all parts three times before putting the shuttle back together.

BOTTLE BREWER AND AIRPOT BREWER
Frequency:
After each brew

Procedure - Bottle Brewer and Airpot Brewer:

  1. Remove any grounds from the brew basket by flushing with hot water.

Frequency:
Daily

Procedure - Bottle Brewer and Airpot Brewer:

  1. Purge the brewer tank by running water through the system without a coffee filter OR pour clean water into the system and allow it to run through the brew basket.
  2. Wipe the spray heads and warmers with a clean damp cloth.
  3. At start of service, first run one pot of water through the brewer without coffee.

Frequency:
Twice a week

Procedure - Bottle Brewer and Airpot Brewer:

  1. Soak the brew basket and decanter in hot solution of Solitaire or Oasis 133 All Purpose
    Cleaner.
  2. Remove the spray head and wash in the detergent solution.
  3. Check the spray head to ensure that all holes are open. If holes are blocked, call service for replacement spray head.
  4. Rinse all components three times with clean warm water.
  5. Use deliming spring where required to remove lime deposits. (Check the Operations Manual for your equipment. If you do not have a manual, contact your service representative).

Frequency:
Twice a week.

To Clean Airpots:

  1. Open the airpot top and remove pump assembly.
  2. Wash the airpot with warm water and mild detergent (Solitaire or Oasis 133 All Purpose Cleaner).
  3. Reinstall the pump, then pump the detergent solution through.
  4. Rinse all parts with clean warm water.
  5. Pump clean water through the airpot three times.
  6. Reassemble the airpot.
